UNC Pembroke’s Office of Student Inclusion & Diversity and the Women’s History Committee has just announced Women’s History Month events being held at the University in March and May. Women’s History Month is celebrated every year in March and brings awareness of women’s historical and contemporary contributions.

On March 8th they will celebrate International Women’s Day which celebrates women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. Then on March 20th-31st several locations across campus will be taking part in a hygiene drive collecting combs, lotion, oral hygiene products, razors, soap/bosh wash, shampoo/conditioner, baby wipes, deodorant, and feminine hygiene products.

On May first, the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Walk and Learn will be held from 11 am to 2 pm on the lawn of the Chavis Student Center. Many more activities will be celebrating Women’s History Month on the campus and can be found at uncp.edu/womenshistorymonth.
