Matchbox Twenty is preparing to celebrate three decades of music with a major North American tour in 2027, bringing the multiplatinum rock band back on the road for an extensive run of concerts honoring its enduring career.
The 52-city tour will mark 30 years since the band’s breakthrough debut album, *Yourself or Someone Like You*, helped establish Matchbox Twenty as one of the defining rock acts of the late 1990s.
The anniversary celebration will begin with an appearance at the Stagecoach Festival on April 25, 2027, before the band launches its headlining tour on May 15 in Birmingham, Alabama.
Texas fans will have three opportunities to catch the group, beginning June 16 at Austin’s Moody Center. The band will then visit The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on June 18 before heading to Dallas for a June 19 performance at Dos Equis Pavilion.
The Wallflowers will serve as special guests for all three Texas concerts, bringing together two acts closely associated with the alternative rock explosion of the 1990s.
Additional performers appearing on select dates throughout the tour include The All-American Rejects, David Gray, O.A.R., Matt Nathanson, and The Lucky.
For Matchbox Twenty, the anniversary represents a significant milestone in a career that began with the release of *Yourself or Someone Like You* in 1996. The album introduced listeners to songs such as “Push,” “3 AM,” and “Real World,” helping the band develop a devoted following and achieve widespread mainstream success.
Frontman Rob Thomas became one of the most recognizable voices in pop-rock, while the band’s combination of melodic songwriting, emotional lyrics, and guitar-driven arrangements helped its music cross multiple radio formats.
Following two additional top 10 albums, the group entered a hiatus in 2002 as Thomas pursued solo opportunities and his bandmates explored other musical projects.
Matchbox Twenty reunited in 2007 and released *Exile on Mainstream*, a collection featuring seven newly recorded songs alongside 11 previously released favorites.
The band continued recording in subsequent years, releasing *North* in 2012 and *Where the Light Goes* in 2023.
The upcoming anniversary tour will take the group across the United States and Canada, with scheduled performances at major venues including the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, and the RBC Amphitheatre in Toronto.
Fans interested in attending can access several advance ticket opportunities. An artist presale is scheduled to begin October 20 at 5 p.m., while an eligible Spotify Premium fan presale begins earlier that day at 10 a.m. for participating Ticketmaster venues.
Additional presales are planned throughout the week, with general ticket sales beginning Friday, October 23, at 10 a.m.
Complete tour information and presale registration details are available through the band’s official website at matchboxtwenty.com.
Thirty years after their debut, Matchbox Twenty is returning to the concert stage with a celebration that connects the songs that launched their career with the audience that has followed them ever since.
