Kourtney Kardashian is committed to breastfeeding her 8-month-old son, Rocky, for at least a year, following a similar approach she took with her 9-year-old son, Reign. The reality star, known for her role on “The Kardashians,” expressed her dedication to nursing and attachment parenting on the July 18 episode of her Hulu series.
“I did Reigny for a year,” Kourtney shared, noting that she stopped breastfeeding Reign only when he started biting her. Her attachment parenting style also includes co-sleeping with Rocky, which she described as “just the best.”
“He sleeps in bed with us,” Kourtney, 45, said. “Waking up to him, he’s so smiley in the morning.” She also admitted feeling “antsy” whenever she is away from Rocky for too long, saying, “I hate leaving him.”
Kourtney’s affinity for attachment parenting, which emphasizes physical touch and bonding between mother and infant, has been a significant part of her parenting journey. She stayed home with Rocky for his first 40 days to facilitate this bond, a practice observed in many cultures to allow a mother’s body time to heal.
“In many different cultures, women don’t leave the house after having a baby for 40 days to let your body have that time to heal,” Kourtney explained on the June 27 episode of her show. “And beyond that, I’m really into attachment parenting. I really don’t separate from him.”
This approach also means that Kourtney’s priority isn’t immediately “bouncing back” to her pre-pregnancy body. “I remember after having Mason, it used to be a really big thing to talk about how soon can you bounce back,” she noted. “I care to get back, but I’m breastfeeding so I’m taking my time.”
With her dedication to extended breastfeeding and attachment parenting, Kourtney Kardashian continues to embrace her role as a nurturing and hands-on mother.
