Jessica Biel Joins Lily-Rose Depp in New Playboy Mansion Film Playmates

Jessica Biel is preparing to enter the world of the Playboy Mansion in a new film that brings together Hollywood talent, an unconventional friendship, and a fresh perspective on one of entertainment’s most recognizable cultural landmarks. The actress has joined Searchlight Pictures’ upcoming movie Playmates, taking on the role of a fictional wife of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. Bill Pullman will portray Hefner, while Lily-Rose Depp and young actress Indiana Elle will lead the film’s central storyline.

Although Hefner was married three times during his lifetime, Biel’s character will not represent any of his actual spouses. Instead, she will portray a former Playboy Playmate who becomes his wife, giving the production room to explore a fictional relationship within the mansion’s distinctive environment.
At the center of the film is Elle, a 13-year-old girl who has grown accustomed to spending time at the Playboy Mansion. Her unusual childhood surroundings take on new meaning when she meets Anna, an aspiring model hoping to earn the coveted title of Playmate of the Month.

Anna is competing against six other women for the opportunity, but her connection with Elle introduces an unexpected friendship. Despite their different ages and circumstances, the two discover that they can help each other pursue their individual goals. The project marks an important career milestone for Lorraine Nicholson, who will make her feature-film debut as both writer and director. Nicholson, the daughter of Academy Award-winning actor Jack Nicholson, developed the story from her own experiences spending time around the Playboy Mansion during her childhood.

That personal connection gives the production an intriguing foundation. Rather than concentrating exclusively on Hefner and his business empire, the narrative places a young girl’s experiences and her relationship with an aspiring model at the forefront. Behind the scenes, Depp will also serve as a producer alongside Alex Orlovsky and Duncan Montgomery of High Frequency Entertainment. Searchlight Pictures is overseeing the production.

For Biel, the casting continues a career that has moved comfortably between television dramas and feature films. Her acclaimed performance in The Sinner earned major awards recognition, while her more recent work includes the Prime Video thriller The Better Sister, in which she starred opposite Elizabeth Banks.
She also appears alongside John Cena in Matchbox: The Movie, scheduled to premiere on Apple TV on October 9.
With an ensemble featuring Biel, Depp, Pullman, and Indiana Elle, Playmates brings together established performers and emerging talent for a story rooted in an unusual chapter of Hollywood culture.

The film also represents an opportunity for Nicholson to introduce her own storytelling perspective, transforming memories of an extraordinary childhood setting into a fictional coming-of-age narrative.
While the Playboy Mansion provides the backdrop, the developing friendship between two female characters promises to be the emotional foundation of the story.
