The Golden State Warriors are targeting their three game road trip next week for the return date for Stephen Curry. The trip will start against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, March 5th, followed up by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, and lastly the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday.
Curry hasn’t played in the last nine games due to a left leg injury that he received after colliding knees with a Dallas Mavericks player at the start of February. Curry ended up having an MRI performed and head coach Steve Kerr commented at the time, “Any time a guy gets an MRI, there’s a concern level, We’ll just have to wait and see the results.… This has happened many, many times over the years. So, fingers crossed he’s OK. If he’s out, then we move forward, and we do have some games to look at, some game film to look at. We’ll be ready, regardless.”
Curry has averaged 29.4 points per game so far prior to his injury over the course of 38 games and has 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
In the meantime, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole stepped up and have took over Curry’s scoring for most games. The Golden State Warriors have 20 games remaining on their season.
