Eva Mendes to Ryan Gosling Post-Oscars: “Come Home, We Need to Put the Kids to Bed”

Eva Mendes playfully nudges Ryan Gosling, her partner and Barbie’s star, to return to parenting duties after his “I’m Just Ken” performance at the 2024 Oscars. Gosling, who donned a sparkly pink suit for his role as Ken, was part of the Oscars’ electrifying acts but did not clinch the Best Supporting Actor award, which went to Robert Downey Jr. Despite Barbie’s eight nominations, it secured an Oscar for Best Original Song.

Mendes, supporting Gosling, shared her pride on Instagram, humorously reminding him of their bedtime routine with daughters Esmeralda and Amada. The performance, featuring Gosling alongside Mark Ronson and other Kens, was a highlight, even bringing Barbie director Greta Gerwig and stars to the verge of tears during Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell’s winning rendition of “What Was I Made For?”.

Gosling’s night was filled with moments of support, from a comforting hug from his mom to cheers from the Dolby Theatre’s audience. As the celebration continued, Mendes’ post encapsulated the blend of Hollywood glamour and the grounded reality of family life, awaiting Gosling’s return from the Ken-tastic adventure.
