One day before it was supposed to kick off, Adele took to Instagram to announce that her Las Vegas residency had to be postponed due to the increasing concerns around COVID-19.
In a tearful video, Adele gave fans the sad news that her team “tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and Covid.”
“I’m so sorry but my show ain’t ready,” she continued. “Half my crew, half my team is down with Covid. They still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted.”
The singer’s residency, which amassed ground-breaking ticket sales, was meant to begin today and carry on through April 16th. Adele has reassured fans that dates will be rescheduled.
“And I’m sorry it’s so last minute. We’ve been awake for over 30 hours now trying to figure it out, and we’ve run out of time,” she remorsefully spoke. “And I’m so upset, and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone who traveled, again. It’s been impossible. We’ve been up against so much, and it just ain’t ready. I’m really sorry.”
