August is a great time for sports, and sports stadiums. Baseball is in full swing. NFL preseason has begun. the corner. MLS and NWSL are pushing toward the playoffs, and WNBA regular season games are heating up. And if you’re lucky enough to catch a game this month, the food in the stands has never been better.
Once known for cheap hot dogs and peanuts, stadiums now boast some of the most sought-after food around the country. Some locals even tap Michelin-starred and James Beard Award-winning chefs for food collaborations you can only find at a ball game.
Yelp’s 2026 Top Stadium Eats list ranks 50 venues across every major American sports league based on what visitors are actually saying in their reviews. Whether you’re a die-hard fan making the trip to every ballpark on your bucket list, or a casual fan who mainly comes for the loaded nachos (no judgment), this is your guide to the stadiums worth eating your way through.
But as Delish reports, only one stadium truly rises above the rest: Citi Field in New York City. According to Yelp’s second annual Top 50 Stadiums for Game-Day Eats report, Citi Field is the best stadium for food in the nation. And that doesn’t just include baseball stadiums. Yelp analyzed stadiums and arenas across the MLB, NHL, MLS, NBA, WNBA, NFL, and NWSL to determine which sporty spot has the best grub.
A trend not only at Citi Field, but at many of the top stadiums in Yelp’s ranking, is partnering with local vendors and chefs. This lets visitors really get a taste of the whole city, rather than sticking to the basics.
According to Yelp, the concourse at Citi Field mirrors Queens itself, fast, lively, and full of surprises worth stopping for. This year’s 37 new menu items span 27 vendor partnerships, with The Queensboro’s Kimchi Reuben earning its place among the must-tries — house-cured corned beef, kimchi fennel, and Russian dressing stacked on toasted rye. For the bold and hungriest eaters, Willets Point Brewery’s 9-9-9 Challenge offers nine mini Nathan’s hot dogs and nine 4-ounce pours across nine innings, which is the kind of thing you sign up for confidently in the first inning and deeply reconsider by the fifth. With a spread this extensive, it makes sense that some Yelpers say “I was really [just] there for the food.”
