Drake turned a livestream dating show into another viral moment after choosing goth streamer Pinkchyu as his favorite contestant and making one particularly extravagant offer.
The Toronto rapper participated in a 20-vs-1 dating event during a Kick livestream on August 8, meeting a lineup of women before eventually narrowing down his choices.
Pinkchyu quickly distinguished herself with her goth-inspired appearance and an interaction that tested just how committed Drake was to winning her approval.
During their conversation, she challenged the superstar to bark for her. Drake accepted the assignment without much hesitation, giving viewers one of the more unusual moments of the dating event.
The playful exchange apparently worked.
By the conclusion of the competition, Drake selected Pinkchyu from the remaining contestants. He then raised the stakes considerably by telling her she could ask him for anything she wanted.
Pinkchyu responded with a request considerably bigger than flowers or a fancy dinner: a house for her mother.
Drake indicated he was willing to make it happen.
Following the livestream, Pinkchyu embraced the sudden attention and identified herself on social media as the goth contestant who had appeared alongside the rapper.
For longtime Drake watchers, his choice might not be completely surprising. The rapper has previously spoken publicly about his attraction to the goth aesthetic, making Pinkchyu’s victory an amusing case of the dating-show lineup matching his previously stated preferences.
Whether anything develops beyond the livestream remains to be seen. For now, Pinkchyu walked away with Drake’s selection, a memorable viral exchange and one potentially very expensive promise for Mom.
