Jon Hamm and Anna Osceola are preparing for a major new role, and this one will unfold far away from any Hollywood set.
The 55-year-old Mad Men star and his 38-year-old wife are expecting their first child together, marking a new chapter for the couple three years after their wedding.
The baby will be the first child for Hamm and Osceola.
Their story has a distinctly Hollywood beginning. The actors first met while working on Mad Men in 2015, when Osceola appeared in the acclaimed drama’s series finale. Hamm, of course, spent seven seasons at the center of the series as the complicated advertising executive Don Draper.
Although they met through the show, romance came later. The pair were linked as a couple in 2020 and eventually took their relationship public before becoming engaged.
They married in June 2023 at Anderson Canyon in Big Sur, California. The location carried a special connection to the couple because it was also used during the Mad Men finale, bringing their relationship back to the setting where their paths had first crossed professionally.
Now their connection to that show has another chapter attached to it.
The pregnancy also follows Hamm’s increasingly open comments about marriage, family and becoming a parent. He previously acknowledged that his childhood experiences had shaped his views on marriage and that he had not always imagined it as part of his future.
His relationship with Osceola helped change that outlook.
After the couple married, Hamm publicly discussed the possibility of having children and acknowledged the realities of becoming a father later in life. Rather than treating his age as a reason to rule out parenthood, he appeared ready to embrace whatever came next.
That next chapter has now arrived.
For Hamm and Osceola, a relationship that began with a chance meeting on one of television’s most celebrated dramas has moved from costars to partners, newlyweds and, soon, first-time parents.
