Post Malone had a surprise up his sleeve for fans in Music City, taking over Nashville for a one-night-only event. On Tuesday, July 16, the 29-year-old artist partnered with Bud Light to host his “A Night in Nashville” concert at Marathon Music Works.
The show featured special guests HARDY, Joe Nichols, and Sierra Ferrell, but the real highlight came when country superstar Blake Shelton, 48, joined Malone on stage. The duo performed their recent collaboration “Pour Me a Drink,” released just last month, to the delight of the packed audience.
As Shelton made his way onto the stage, the two shared a hug. “It’s a Post Malone world we’re living in!” Shelton exclaimed, prompting loud cheers from the crowd. The pair also treated fans to a rendition of Shelton’s 2004 hit “Some Beach,” as seen in videos shared on social media.
Gwen Stefani, Shelton’s wife, was also present, capturing the moment from the side of the stage and sharing clips on her Instagram Stories. One video showed Shelton coming off stage, exuberantly shouting, “Woo!” In another, Stefani turned the camera on herself and Shelton, writing, “@PostMalone fan-ing out.”
During the concert, Malone also previewed tracks from his upcoming album F-1 Trillion, set for release on August 16, including his recent chart-topping single “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen.
This isn’t the first time Malone and Shelton have teamed up for a surprise performance. They previously performed “Pour Me a Drink” at Thomas Rhett’s CMA Fest set at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on June 6, and again later that night at Spotify House in Shelton’s bar, Ole Red.
Shelton’s enthusiasm for Malone’s venture into country music was evident. “Let’s hear it for our new adopted son in country music,” he said during their previous performance.
Malone first teased the collaboration on May 23, sharing a snippet of the song on Instagram. Stefani commented on the post, “Can’t handle this much cool and cute!! Super fan alert!”
Fans are eagerly awaiting the release of F-1 Trillion, which promises to showcase Malone’s versatility and continued exploration of country music.
