Zach Bryan Apologizes for Controversial Kanye West vs. Taylor Swift Tweet

Zach Bryan found himself in hot water after posting a controversial tweet on September 19, where he compared Kanye West and Taylor Swift. In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), the country singer wrote, “eagles > chiefs” followed by “Kanye > Taylor,” sparking backlash from Swift’s fans. Bryan quickly deleted his X account but kept his Instagram active, where he shared four stories featuring Kanye West tracks.

Later that day, Bryan took to Instagram to address the situation and apologize. He clarified that he wasn’t intending to insult Swift, explaining, “I was drunkenly comparing two records and it came out wrong… I love Taylor’s music.” He added that his intention was to comment on music, not the controversies surrounding Kanye, and expressed regret for upsetting Taylor’s fans. Bryan also admitted that Twitter often gets him into trouble and promised to stay off the platform for a while.

In a heartfelt follow-up, Bryan revealed he’s been going through personal struggles, which may have contributed to his poor judgment. He reiterated his admiration for Swift and reminded fans, “Don’t drink and tweet!”

The “Heading South” singer, currently on his Quittin’ Time tour, concluded his apology by expressing gratitude for his fans and vowing to stay grounded amidst the challenges he’s facing.
