You’ll Never Kill Another Houseplant Thanks to The Sill’s New Virtual Appointments

A houseplant or two (or 10) can breathe new life into your home or office, but if you’re an aspiring plant parent who doesn’t have the best track record of keeping plants alive, you might be a little afraid to bring new green friends into your space. Don’t despair, because The Sill is here to help: The brand just launched a new tool called Virtual Plant Appointments to help you go from green newbie to plant pro in as little as 15 minutes.

Here’s how it works: Maybe you’ve been gifted a plant you’re unfamiliar with, maybe your Pothos is turning yellow and you’re not sure why, or maybe you’re trying to set up an indoor garden but you don’t know the best place to put your new plants. In any case, you can head to The Sill’s website and purchase a Virtual Plant Appointment, and one of the brand’s plant experts will help you out over the internet. Simply choose between two appointment slots: 15 minutes or 30 minutes ($29 and $39, respectively), and The Sill will send you an email confirmation that allows you to choose the date and time (Mondays through Saturdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.) that works best for you.

The 15-minute appointment allows you to get help with three to five plants, while the 30-minute appointment gives you access to help with five to ten plants. (It’s also important to note that your plants don’t have to have been purchased from The Sill in order to book an appointment.) The appointment will start with a brief environmental assessment of your space, then you can talk about your questions and concerns. And when your appointment is over, you’ll receive an email with a short assessment of your plants and care recommendations for them. Your path to the green thumb you’ve always hoped for? It’s just a few minutes away.
