Ye and Ty Dolla $ign are adding a stop in Taiwan to their August Asia tour for a special “Vultures 2” listening party. Ty Dolla $ign confirmed the event via Instagram on Thursday (July 25), announcing it will take place on August 25. This announcement hints that the long-awaited “Vultures 2” album could finally be on its way, with Ty teasing the event with “V2” in his caption.
The event flyer simply reads, “VULTURES LISTENING EXPERIENCE TAIWAN 08 25 24.”
However, fans have expressed frustration over the ongoing listening parties with no official release date for the album. “Even Ty doesn’t know when the F—ING ALBUM IS DROPPING,” one fan commented, while another questioned, “Does Ye know about this?”
Rapper Denzel Curry’s enthusiastic comment, “LETS GOOOOOOOO,” has sparked speculation that he might feature on the sequel.
Details about the venue and ticketing for the Taiwan event are still under wraps. As with the South Korea event, LeGrand is handling the promotion. Ye and Ty Dolla $ign will be performing at South Korea’s Goyang Stadium on August 23, just two days before heading to Taiwan.
Pre-sale tickets for the Taiwan event go on sale on July 29 at 8 p.m. local time, with general sales starting on July 30. Ticket prices range from $58 to $181 USD.
While “Vultures 2” still lacks an official release date, Ty Dolla $ign confirmed in a Billboard cover story that the project is essentially complete and is awaiting a strategic rollout. “We got all the songs. Basically, it’s just like, ‘How can we get it there? How can we go bigger than the first album?’” he said. “Certain people will probably expect you to just do the same exact sound. But that sound’s already out.”
The first “Vultures” album, released independently on February 10, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 with 148,000 equivalent album units. Ye and Ty also scored a Billboard Hot 100 hit in March with “Carnival,” featuring Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti.
“Vultures 2” was initially set for release on March 8, then postponed to May 3, and has since been delayed indefinitely.
