After a two-decade break from the music scene, Will Smith is set to release his new album, Based on a True Story, on March 28, 2025. This marks his first full-length project since 2005’s Lost and Found.
The 14-track album showcases collaborations with notable artists, including DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, Jac Ross, and his son, Jaden Smith. Smith has previously released singles from the album, such as “Beautiful Scars” featuring Big Sean, “Work of Art” with Jaden Smith and Russ, and “Tantrum” alongside Joyner Lucas.
In a statement, Smith described this project as his most personal and powerful music to date. He has actively engaged with fans on social media, sharing behind-the-scenes content and participating in viral challenges, including a recent dance video with The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air co-star Tatyana Ali and rapper Doechii.
