Time tends to move pretty slowly when you live in a charming and tiny Southern town like Laurel, Mississippi. On the other hand, as the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun — especially when it’s as much fun as we’ve been having – and watching – throughout the last three seasons of Home Town with hosts Ben and Erin Napier It’s a paradox. But if you were sad to leave the Napiers last April, fear not, they are BACK with not ten (as in seasons 1 & 2), not thirteen (as in season 3), but 16 new episodes for their fourth season debuting on HGTV this January 20th.
Seems like only yesterday that Ben and Erin, and now baby Helen, arrived back in our lives with their contagious smiles and a new set of adventures welcoming newcomers to their beloved small town – as well as helping some long-time resident friends and neighbors locate and realize their ideal dream homes.
Home Town, as a series, taps into a growing and nascent notion that there are old, authentic and storied things – like homes, buildings and neighborhoods – that are worth revering, preserving, cherishing and celebrating. Add to that the undeniable fact that watching Erin and Ben at work and at play, and witnessing them exercise their creativity and passion for what they do, just plain feels good. When it comes to real-life storytelling that strikes a chord, we like to think we – like our viewers – know a good thing when we see it. And in Home Town, we see it. And we’re happy to help spread the tidings that there’s lots more in store.
Sixteen episodes means a lot of renovations when you’re already juggling responsibilities as co-owners of the Laurel Mercantile — plus, y’know, being parents to an adorable little girl. Beyond the bigger episode order, Ben and Erin will be welcoming a new member to their construction crew: project manager Jonathan Walters bid farewell to Laurel this year, heading even further south for what Erin called an “incredible opportunity in Florida.”
So, there’s a ton in store for Season 4. Set your DVR’s and get ready to go back to Home Town this month!
