Days have gotten shorter, nights colder, and Jack Frost is nipping at our heels. It’s time to bust out your winter coats. But will yours pass muster or is it just passé? Check out this year’s Winter Coat Trends and decide if you need to update your outerwear this season:
Animal Prints: Were everywhere on the runways for Fall, in everything from leopard, to python to zebra and back. Roar, baby!
Vinyl: These shiny plastic takes on a classic trench are even more fun if you go for a bold color choice. And they have the added bonus of being water-proof!
Metallics: We’re seeing this glitzy twist on everything from Puffer jackets to trench coats to coat dresses this year. Speaking of which, if you really love enveloping yourself in a big puffy coat this winter but want to look 2018 instead of 1988, why not bling it up with a Metallic fabric?
Heritage Check: Go subtle in plaid or herringbone, or dare to be different in brighter colors and faux furs with this below knee-length, always-classic style.
Corduroy: Is on its way back from the 70’s, with rich bold colors, faux fur collar accents, and fabulous updated styles.
Trench: Of course, if you want to stick with the timeless classic, you can’t go wrong with a trench coat. Whether you choose twill, leather, wool or cotton, this look never goes out of style.
