Walton Goggins made his Saturday Night Live hosting debut on May 10, and he didn’t miss a beat—literally. Opening with a wink to the internet’s thirst over his White Lotus character Rick Hatchett, Goggins leaned into his new “sex symbol at 53” status with humor and heart.
Displaying hilarious headlines like Cosmopolitan’s “Are We All Horny for Walton Goggins’s Receding Hairline?”—to which he quipped, “It’s not receding, it’s holding its ground”—Goggins effortlessly charmed the live audience. He even poked fun at being called a “greasy, depressing little man” and took offense not at the insult, but at the headline’s use of “whom” for sounding too pretentious.
The real surprise came when Goggins brought out his mother. What started as a sweet slow dance quickly evolved into a spirited tap dance, showcasing where Goggins gets his flair for the dramatic.
Adding to the night’s fun, Goggins’ White Lotus co-star and real-life friend Sam Rockwell joined him for a pre-taped sketch, keeping the energy high.
Following stellar recent hosting turns by Quinta Brunson and Mikey Madison, Goggins proved that sometimes, the internet’s unexpected crushes know exactly what they’re doing.
