Vogue is Gearing Up for the 2023 Met Gala, “In Honor of Karl”

While celebrities and fashionistas are preparing their best peacock feathers for the 2023 Met Gala, “In Honor of Karl,” Vogue magazine is doing some serious prep of their own.

To do their own homage to designer Karl Lagerfeld, the magazine has released a special cover to celebrate both Lagerfeld and his long career. Photographed by Annie Leibovitz, the cover features ten of Lagerfeld’s favorite models past and present – Anok Yi, Shalom Harlow, Kendall Jenner, Liu Wen, Adut Akech, Natalia Vodianova, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta, Gigi Hadid, and Devon Aoki – who all posed at Paris’ Grand Palais.

For the same Vogue May issue, ten designers leading the industry showed their Lagerfeld love by reinterpreting some of his visionary works into brand new designs.

Aside from the magazine feature, Vogue has just announced its chosen hosts for their exclusive annual livestream of the Met Gala red carpet. They are (drum roll, please) actor and producer La La Anthony (Think Like A Man, The Power), writer and fashion editor Derek Blasberg (YouTube, Gagosian) and actor and comedian Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live). YouTube sensation Emma Chamberlin will also return to the red carpet as Vogue‘s special correspondent, tasked with interviewing the Met Gala’s biggest celebrities of the night.

The livestream will take place at 6:00 p.m. EST on May 1 and can be watched exclusively on Vogue.com.
