Viola Davis Makes History at the Oscars

Over the years the Oscars have received some bad press for what many thought was a lack of diversity among their nominees. Well, this year the nominations are much different and we have seen a difference in who is nominated for what. This year Viola Davis has become the first African American actress to reach three nominations at this award show. What an honor this truly amazing actress has received!

Viola is up for Best Actress in a Supporting Role against many big names like Nicole Kidman and Michelle Williams, but we think she is the favorite for this one.

The other two nominations she received were for supporting actress in 2009 (Doubt) and for her lead role in 2012 (The Help).
