In an emotional Instagram post, Vin Diesel called upon his Fast and Furious co-star, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, to “fulfill [his] destiny” and return to his role of Hobbs for the upcoming Fast 10 movie.
The two actors have been known to be in a feud with many details unbeknownst to the public; the beef was apparently what led Johnson to drop out of Fast 9.
“My little brother Dwayne… the time has come,” Diesel began his post. “The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house. There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10!”
With as much intensity as the Fast and Furious films themselves embody, it seems like Diesel is determined to move past whatever happened between the two to close out the billion-dollar franchise for its last chapter.
“I say this out of love…” Diesel said to Johnson. “But you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other.”
