Tyrese Releases New Track ‘Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me’

Tyrese has made his return with the brand new track “Don’t Think You Ever Loved Me,” that features Lenny Kravitz and Le’Andria Johnson. On the ballad, Tyrese with a broken heart , reflects on a past relationship and if his ex ever loved him to begin with.

In the chorus Tyrese sings, “When things got rough, you chose to run / I don’t think you ever loved me / Not like you said you did / Wasted my time / You wouldn’t try / I don’t think you ever loved me / And that’s why you quit.”

The song was produced by Brandon “B.A.M” Hodge and was written by Tyrese, Eric Dawkins, Davion Farris, and Asalena Elliot and will be on Tyrese’s upcoming album, Beautiful Pain.

Tyrese wrote in an Instagram caption, “I really wish this wasn’t my story. I really wish this wasn’t my song. I really wish this wasn’t my truth. But it is. #BeautifulPain After really thinking about scrapping this whole album and never releasing this song because it’s just too painful,”

Tyrese also wrote, Tyrese says Beautiful Pain, a double album, was inspired by his three-year marriage. “I wish this #BeautifulPain album was everybody else’s but mine, I hate that I’m not married anymore. I hate that I went through this unexpected painful divorce but there’s a lot of beauty in pain and while in therapy I’m discovering that every day.”

Beautiful Pain will be a follow up to Tyrese’s 2015 album, Black Rose, that ended up peaking at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Tyrese stated that Beautiful pain is set for release in late 2023.
