Tyler, The Creator Says Keep Your Podcasts—and Your Restaurant Tips—to Yourself

Tyler, The Creator still isn’t here for your podcast, and he’s not shy about saying so. In a new interview with The Cut, the rapper, producer, and style icon doubled down on his long-running distaste for podcast culture.

“I think we give a lot of people who aren’t smart and just want attention platforms to be loud and incorrect,” Tyler said bluntly. He questioned why everyone seems obsessed with having a microphone instead of a skill, adding, “We need electricians, we need more drummers, painters, teachers. Everybody with a mic is crazy.”

Still, not all podcasts are off-limits for him. He admitted to enjoying The Cutting Room Floor and Grits & Eggs Podcast, calling them “sick” and saying they’re examples of how podcasts should be done.

The Call Me If You Get Lost artist also had strong words on gatekeeping, saying he’s “pro-gatekeeping” when it comes to fashion, restaurants, and anything else that risks being ruined by TikTok trends. “Let me have my thing,” he declared. “You might not look that fire in it.”

In short: Tyler wants creativity, not clout-chasing — and your podcast? Probably not on his playlist.
