Tyler, The Creator Performs Full ‘Igor’ Album at LA Show

On Wednesday night, May 22nd,Tyler, The Creator performed the album in full for the very first time in front of an intimate Los Angeles crowd. The performance was livestreamed through Apple Music.

One of the standouts crowned by fans has been “I Think,” which came about thanks to an inspirational trip that Tyler went on with Frank Ocean and Solange to Italy. He also shared a conversation he had with Kendrick Lamar describing the album’s direction to be about “a feeling.”

‘Igor’ was released last week, May 17th, and in the midst of running through his 40-minute effort, Tyler dropped several tidbits regarding how the album came together. One gem saw the Oddfuture co-founder explain how he originally wrote “Earfquake” for Justin Bieber and even later pitched it to Rihanna, but both refused.

“Running Out Of Time” was actually birthed during the middle of an A$AP Ferg studio session in NYC. Lastly, Tyler admitted that he already had “Gone Gone / Thank You” created before he even released both of his Cherry Bomb and 2017’s Flower Boy albums.
