According to usnews.com, Tyler Reddick won Sunday at Road America by overcoming Chase Elliott, the previous defending champion of the course. The victory is a result of his 92nd start in his Cup career which has gotten him close before, with five second place finishes in the past. The Richard Childress Racing driver beat Elliott by just 3.304 seconds. Stating that, “It was just a huge sense of relief, He’s been the guy that’s won more road courses the last couple of years than anybody,” Elliot had pole position and led the race up until the 47th lap when Reddick took over.The teams owner Richard Childress sensed the victory coming and told the driver in a morning pep talk that, “You’re going to win this race. We just can’t beat ourselves and (have to) be solid.” Tyler Reddick was able to follow through with his part and make his owner’s prediction come true.
