Tom Petty Items Up For Auction

Many fans still can’t get over the death of iconic rocker Tom Petty, but he’s still making the news. There will a Tom Petty auction in Dallas July 21st, and the items up for auction is a treasure trove of memorabilia. Fans will be able to bid on apparel worn by Tom in concert, a collection of guitars, lyrics, hats, and more. Two of the items that will surely generate a great deal of interest and revenue is the cherry-red 1965 Gibson SG electric guitar played by Tom on the Bob Dylan tour, and his brown felt top hat, both combined expected to fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars. A portion of the proceeds will go directly to two of Tom’s favorite charities; the Tazzy Animal Rescue Fund, and the Midnight Mission, which aids the homeless.

Norman Harris who owns the Norman’s Rare Guitars shop, and Heritage Auctions are providing the auction items, and you can visit Heritage Auctions for more info. Again, the Tom Petty auction is set for Saturday, July 21st in Dallas, but bidding has already begun online.
