In an electrifying reunion, Tom Morello, the former E Street Band touring member, joined Bruce Springsteen for a riveting performance at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. On the evening of April 7th, Morello accompanied Springsteen, also known as The Boss, playing the guitar for the iconic tracks “The Ghost of Tom Joad” and “American Skin (41 Shots).” This remarkable collaboration marked the 2024 tour debuts of both songs and was a nostalgic throwback to their last performances with the E Street Band in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
The night was filled with memorable moments as Springsteen’s wife, Patti Scialfa, graced the stage for “Tougher Than the Rest” and “Fire,” adding a personal touch to the concert. The setlist was a mix of classics and rarities, including “The Promised Land,” “Hungry Heart,” “Backstreets,” and the first rendition of “Open All Night” in a decade, thrilling long-time fans and newcomers alike.
The concert reached its peak during the encore, featuring anthems such as “Born to Run,” “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “Glory Days,” and “Dancing in the Dark,” leaving the audience exhilarated.
Morello and Springsteen’s musical partnership dates back to 2008, leading to significant collaborations over the years, including on Springsteen’s albums “Wrecking Ball” and “High Hopes.” Their latest stage reunion in California not only highlighted their enduring friendship but also their undeniable chemistry as musicians, promising more unforgettable performances in the tour ahead.
