For the first time in Tom Brady’s career, he finished the regular season with a losing record as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished the season 8 and 9, marking Brady’s worst season as a starting quarterback since the 2002 season when the Patriots went 9-7. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, 30-17.
Despite the losing season, Tampa is still headed to the playoffs after winning the NFC South last week despite their losses. Brady was able to get the first five Buccaneer drives and a touchdown before being taken out due to the secured spot in the playoffs. Brady finished the game 13 of 17 for 84 yards with his one touchdown.
After Brady was taken out, Blaine Gabbert took over and had a five play touchdown drive after a recovered fumble had the Bucs offense back on the field. Gabbert then found Russell Gage Jr. for three yards. However, the Buccaneers were scoreless in the second half and fell behind, ultimately losing 30-17.
