DiGiorno’s announced the arrival of a surprising seasonal pizza early this month, its “Thanksgiving”-topped pie that’s piled high with turkey, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, and cranberries. The good news is that you can taste all the flavors of Thanksgiving in every bite, while the less good news is that DiGiorno’s first stack of limited-edition pizzas sold out almost immediately.
As Food & Wine reports, if you want to get your hands on one, every Wednesday from November 1 through November 22, you can visit the Shop DiGiorno website to buy one of these pies. The company says it will release a “limited number” of the pizzas every week, and they’ll be available for purchase on a first come, first served basis. Each pie will cost $11.23, which is, of course, the date of Thanksgiving. (And, before you ask, shoppers are limited to one Thanksgiving Pizza per person, and they can only be shipped within the United States.)
While you wait for DiGiorno’s to restock its online store — and more Thanksgiving Pizzas will be released this Wednesday — you might want to swing by your local Baskin-Robbins to keep the autumnal vibes going. The Massachusetts-based ice cream chain has announced that its November Flavor of the Month is called Turkey Day Fixin’s and … you know where this is going, don’t you?
For the rest of November, you can get a scoop that tastes like Thanksgiving’s most top-shelf side dishes. Turkey Day Fixin’s is a creamy combination of autumn spice and sweet potato ice creams, with Ocean Spray cranberry sauce swirls and bite-sized pieces of honey cornbread. (Unlike DiGiorno’s, Baskin-Robbins knows that green bean casserole doesn’t need to be involved here.)
“We continue to push the boundaries of flavor innovation at Baskin-Robbins and wanted to bring a unique scoop to the table that deliciously encapsulates all the sweet and savory flavors from your favorite Thanksgiving sides,” Hannah Suits, Baskin-Robbins’ Director of Brand Marketing, said in a statement. “Along with the return of our iconic Turkey Cake, these offerings are a delicious and innovative take on holiday favorites.”
Oh yes, she said “Turkey Cake,” which is making its triumphant annual return. This glorious centerpiece of a dessert looks like a perfectly roasted turkey, but it’s actually an Instagram-worthy ice cream creation. The cake can be filled with any ice cream flavor you’d like — presumably even the Turkey Day Fixin’s kind — and then it’s generously coated with a caramel praline glaze. And, just like its more traditional all-meat counterpart, your guests might fight over the drumsticks, but this pair of legs is made from sugar cones. (Advantage: Cake.)
If you think you’d like to enhance your Thanksgiving meal with a Turkey Cake, be sure to pre-order it online from your local Baskin-Robbins because it can take up to 48 hours to create. We’re not saying that it’ll replace the traditional bird that you also pre-order every year, but at least you won’t freak out if this one’s still frozen at dinner time.
