It’s no secret that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and it definitely runs true in Tim McGraw’s family. Music runs in the family, and people are finally hearing about it. The country star recently shared a video while singing with his oldest daughter, Gracie, in the car. In two clips posted to Instagram, the pair harmonize to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s 1980 hit “What Kind of Fool.”
This is far from Gracie’s first time in the spotlight. Previously, she shared the stage with her father during a concert in Nashville, Tenn. in 2015 where they performed McGraw’s “Here Tonight,” featured on his album Damn Country Music. The album version of “Here Tonight” also features Gracie.
In an interview ahead of the album, McGraw expressed his surprise that his daughter said yes to joining him on the song. “I sent it to her, and she liked it. Then I asked her to sing on it and she said she would,” he recalled. “I was kind of shocked that she said she would. We went in the studio and she went in and nailed it.”
McGraw is seen driving Gracie, 22, as they sing along to the radio. Impressed by his daughter’s vocals, her proud father allows her to take the lead. “PIPES!!!!!!……Dang, this girl can sing! Gracie and I having fun with Babs and Barry on our trip,” McGraw captioned the video before using the hashtag, #chaseyourdreamsgirl.”
