In a recent TGL (Tomorrow’s Golf League) match on February 18, 2025, Tiger Woods experienced what he described as “one of the most embarrassing moments in my golfing career.” The incident occurred during the 13th hole when Woods misheard the yardage from his teammates, leading to a significant miscalculation.

Believing he was 99 yards from the hole, Woods selected a 56-degree sand wedge and executed a shot that traveled approximately 100 yards. However, the actual distance was 199 yards, a detail he realized only after the shot landed well short of the green. Reflecting on the mishap, Woods commented, “I heard 99 yards, so I went out there and hit it… I just screwed up. That was embarrassing.”

Despite the blunder, Woods maintained a sense of humor, sharing a laugh with his teammates, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim. The match concluded with Woods’ team, Jupiter Links GC, falling 10-3 to the New York Golf Club. This event marked Woods’ return to competitive play following the recent passing of his mother, Kultida, on February 4. He acknowledged the emotional difficulty of returning to the sport, stating, “It’s been a hard process. I really haven’t thought about golf, and I don’t think I’ll be thinking about it for a bit here.”
