On Friday morning, May 31st, Thomas Rhett celebrated album release day in New York City with an appearance on the TODAY Show. The country singer dropped his fourth studio album, Center Point Road and decided to visit the morning show and participate in their Citi Concert Series.
Thomas Rhett wrote “Look What God Gave Her” about his wife, Lauren, and told the anchors it’s one of his favorite songs he’s ever written about her and is “super fun, super up-tempo.” The singer’s high energy performance of “Look What God Gave Her” had the crowd dancing along and TODAY Show co-anchor Hoda Kotb even made an appearance during her maternity leave after adopting her second child to see the country star’s set.
“It’s 20 minutes north of Nashville, where I did a lot of growing up,” he said. “A lot of this record is pretty nostalgic and derived a lot of inspiration from my 15, 16, 18-year-old self. Center Point Road seemed like, no pun intended, the centerpiece of the record. It’s been fun to dive back into my past and make a record around that.”
The country crooner’s fourth studio album, Center Point Road, is out now.
