Things Got Heated Between Milwaukee Bucks’ Brook Lopez and Sacramento Kings’ Trey Lyles and Both Were Ejected

Brook Lopez of the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles got into a tussle near the end of their game on Monday night. Both Lopez and Lyles ended up being ejected with 15.4 seconds remaining in the game.

When Giannis Antetokounmpo was attempting to dribble out the rest of the clock and cut in front of Lyles, Lyles attempted to steal the ball away and pushed him which drew a foul call. After that occurred Lopez got into the face of Lyles’. Lopez and Lyles wrestled each other to the sideline until they were eventually split up.

Lopez stated after the fact, “I thought what that guy did to Giannis was cheap, He didn’t need to do any of that stuff. He stepped up to Giannis a little bit as he walked off, and I didn’t like that. I had my guy’s back like I would have any of my teammates.”

While Kings guard De’Aaron Fox said that all Antetokounmpo needed to do was dribble the ball out. Lyles added to that statement saying, “I think Fox said it pretty well, It could have been avoided if he just dribbled it out. If you watch, I’m just walking back with my head down. He crossed in front of me. … He sold it a bit. It was nothing personal.”

Lyles continued to say, “A lot of people probably say it was cheap since it was at the end of the game, It’s at the end of the game — then why initiate it? If you’re going to do that, then you need to be ready for the repercussions of it. I’m not saying it’s right by any means, but what happened is what happened.”

The game ended in a Bucks victory with a final score of 133-124.
