Sir Paul McCartney is an original, a legendary performer and ground breaking musician who has influenced the music world for over 50 years. His contributions to song writing alone make his life one in a million. There’s more to the man than his music though…
Paul confesses turning to the bottle shortly after the Beatles break-up, a time in his life he deeply regrets. He also mentions that when starting the band Wings, his wife Linda was just awful on stage. He did confess later that Wings gave her a chance to join the band and spend more time on the road with the family.
In an interview with the BBC last year, Paul also admits distance between himself and John after the split in the early 70s, admitting that it was as much his fault as it was John’s. The two were able to reconcile a few years before John died.
Perhaps their greatest collaboration, the song “Yesterday” written in 1965, has been played over 100 million times, and has generated over $50 million in song royalties.
