The Weeknd’s ‘Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)’ Is Now Certified Diamond by the RIAA

The Weeknd has managed to earn a new diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His 2015 track, “Earned It (Fifty Shades Of Grey),” has now sold over 10 million equivalent units since being released. Earned It marks The Weeknd’s fifth RIAA diamond certified single, after “The Hills,” “Starboy” featuring Daft Punk, “Blinding Lights” and “Can’t Feel My Face.”

The latest certification also makes The Weeknd the fourth artist to collect five or more diamond certifications. The Oscar nominated single is off of the Fifty Shades of Grey Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and also appeared on The Weeknd’s sophomore album, Beauty Behind The Madness.

Beauty Behind The Madness debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart and spent three weeks at the top. It also marked two trophies at the 58th Grammy Awards for The Weeknd, including Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Performance.

Meanwhile, this summer, The Weeknd will start the second portion of his After Hours Til Dawn Tour and will play shows in Europe and Latin America territories. The tour wraps up on October 15th, in Santiago, Chile.
