Every fashion year is characterized by the it-brands and designers, the fashion week shows and their subsequent trends and the popular items that keep us coming back for more. But as Hypebae reports, in and amongst all that are the campaigns that got us all talking, breaking new ambassador announcements, translating the visions of new creative directors and perhaps most excitingly: tapping up the people at the heart of the cultural zeitgeist.
Offering the perfect aesthetic cocktail of celebrity, photographer and stylist, it’s those core elements that determine the virality of a campaign and more often than not, there are a few consistent brands that always seem to get it right.
Read on for Hypebae’s top 10 list of the best fashion campaigns of 2024.
Jeremy Allen White for Calvin Klein
It may have graced us with its presence on literally January 4th, but it started off a year of campaigns with the biggest bang. Jeremy Allen White’s first campaign for Calvin Klein was nothing short of a cultural moment. A seismic shift in the zeitgeist, if you will. What followed was a series of equally sexy images, and the duo’s ongoing partnership has become the gift that’s kept on giving — and hopefully will continue to give in 2025.
Bad Bunny for Jacquemus
Jacquemus campaigns are always incredibly creative, insanely gorgeous, and honestly above all else, really f-cking fun. February treated us to an unlikely campaign star, one we’ve rarely seen step outside of his adidas collaborations, but clearly — Jacquemus was the exception. Tapping up Benito Martinez Ocasio aka Bad Bunny, Jacquemus’ “LE SCULPTURES” campaign saw the Puerto Rican superstar in sculptural positions with incredibly picturesque backdrops. A win win.
Charli XCX for Acne Studios
2024 was undoubtedly the year of Brat summer and as a result, Charli XCX came back in a big way. Though the “Sweat” tour songstress also appeared in campaigns from brands such as Converse, SKIMS, Y/Project and Valentino this year, it was her Acne Studios appearance that really got us talking. Lensed by American artist Talia Chetrit, the campaign saw Charli in several topless shots, casually placing cult-loved products like Acne’s Multi-pocket and Bowlina bags in place of casual nudity.
Jacob Elordi for Bottega Veneta
Charli XCX wasn’t the only one who had a major summer. Off the back of 2023’s Saltburn and his subsequent bromance with Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi is still riding one of the biggest waves. Announced this year as Bottega Veneta’s newest ambassador which, given his impressive bag collection, made perfect sense, the campaign that broke the news is one that’ll live rent-free in our minds. And yes, it’s obviously because of the bunny ears. Duh.
Christine Quinn for Diesel
Christine Quinn is an icon, whether on Selling Sunset or not. Clearly, we aren’t the only ones who feel that way because back in July, Glenn Martens tapped Quinn for Diesel’s “Till D Do Us Part” campaign, which saw the reality star as the ultimate bride. Pictured in head-to-toe Diesel denim, Quinn showed us a whole other side to her fashionable personalty and my god, did we love it. (We did.)
Sydney Sweeney for Jimmy Choo
Another forever icon, Sydney Sweeney will always be in style. But she’s especially stylish in Jimmy Choo’s Summer 2024 campaign, shot against the pastel pink hues of Palm Springs. Debuting what next became one of 2024’s biggest trends, Sweeney was pictured with a pink cowhide bag and brown pumps, showcasing Jimmy Choo signatures in the most effortless way.
Nadia Lee Cohen for Paris Texas
Anything Nadia Lee Cohen touches turns to incredibly sexy and dangerously powerful — we don’t make the rules — and it was her second team-up with Italian footwear brand Paris Texas, that makes our best campaigns list. Debuting her first-ever collection for the brand, the sultry campaign continued her longstanding legacy of femininity and female empowerment, whilst resulting in glossy, picturesque images that would make the ultimate coffee table book.
Sabrina Carpenter for SKIMS
Tapping up stars of the moment has become SKIMS‘ specialty in recent years, capturing the likes of Charli XCX, Tate McRae and Nicola Coughlan in the last few months alone. But one of its biggest and best was undoubtedly working with one of this year’s biggest music stars: Sabrina Carpenter. Capturing the “Espresso” singer in perfect pink underwear at just the height of her fame, the nostalgic campaign hit every note.
Solange and Ice Spice for Heaven by Marc Jacobs
Alongside SKIMS, Heaven by Marc Jacobs is another brand that consistently seems to just. get. it. right. Teaming up with Ice Spice and Solange alongside Grimes and Hayley Williams, the brand’s Spring 2024 campaign was a perfect blend of all our musical personalities with a touch of Y2K and much-needed nostalgia.
Elizaveta Porodina for Gentle Monster
With many campaigns, it’s the photographers or the stylists who really make it what it is and for this Gentle Monster campaign, Elizaveta Porodina is exactly what makes it. Known for her signature blend of feminine bodies, futuristic hues and otherworldly aesthetics, Porodina’s work can be spotted from a mile away and her coming together with Gentle Monster just made perfect aesthetic sense.
