The Best Potential NFL Free Agents

The NFL free agency period begins in about one week and thus one of the most important times of the year for NFL teams is close to being upon us. There are plenty of great free agents available as of today, but do remember many teams will franchise tag players before this period begins. Let’s take a look at the top free agents this offseason…

Dontari Poe is a Chiefs defensive lineman that reportedly won’t be franchised tagged meaning he’ll be on the market some free agency period. His numbers won’t blow you away, but his impact on the defensive line cannot be understated. The guy is an athlete that dominates the line of scrimmage.

Alshon Jeffery suffered through injuries and a PED suspension last year, but still showed he’s a very good receiver. The Bears don’t appear to be franchise tagging him this week thus he’ll be on the market for every NFL team. Who could sign him? We aren’t sure, but whoever does sign him will likely have to pay him near record numbers for a receiver.

Jason Pierre-Paul suffered a wild July 4th accident that injured his hand, but that didn’t stop him from having a great season last year. There’s a chance he gets franchise tagged, but as of now he’s heading for free agency. Last year he signed a one year deal worth $10 million. This year we think he’ll be making more. (UPDATE: the Giants have placed the franchise tag on JPP)
