The NFL Hires a Flurry of New Head Coaches as the Super Bowl Approaches

Since the end of the regular NFL season, there have been nine openings for head coaching jobs in the league.

On Thursday night, the Jacksonville Jaguars hired former Super Bowl champion head coach Doug Pederson. After this hiring, there are only three open positions left, including the New Orleans Saints, the Houston Texans, and the Miami Dolphins.

Other hirings include former New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels as the new head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Minnesota Vikings will officially sign their new head coach after the Super Bowl, who is the Los Angeles Rams’ current offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell. The Chicago Bears hired former defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, while the Denver Broncos hired Green Bay offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett. Finally, after his most successful season with the Buffalo Bills, the New York Giants hired the Bills’ offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
