Over the weekend, we witnessed a truly fun and entertaining NBA All Star experience. The best part of the weekend, in our eyes, was the skills competitions that occurred on Saturday night.
It all started with the Skills Challenge, which included an interesting twist – big men in the competition. And these big men didn’t just compete, they won! Karl Anthony Towns beat Isaiah Thomas, who is 15 inches shorter than KAT!
The three-point contest was also entertaining, but more than anything, it was impressive! The guys came out firing and many showed why they were there to begin with. Klay Thompson was the winner, beating Steph Curry in the finals of the competition.
The star of the night, as it always is, was the Slam-Dunk competition. The defending champ, Zach LaVine competed against Andre Drummond, Will Barton, and Aaron Gordon. We might not see a better dunk contest than the one we saw on Saturday night. Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine went dunk after dunk after dunk combining for six straight perfect scores. LaVine walked away with the trophy, but Gordon definitely won people’s hearts over. What a night!
