We’re just a few days away from learning who will be officially part of the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class. The moment we hear the results of the committee and fan voting, we’ll pass that along. The Hall announced the nominees in October, and we received a news alert of fan voting a few weeks ago, indicating that the Moody Blues, Cars, and Dire Straits were having great support by the fans; a harbinger for their admittance to the 2018 class.
The more interesting nominees for this year’s class are the MC5, the Moody Blues, Bon Jovi, Dire Straits, Eurythmics, Kate Bush, The Cars, Depeche Mode, the J. Geils Band, Judas Priest, LL Cool J, Rage Against the Machine, and Rufus featuring Chaka Khan.
It’s hard to believe the Doobie Brothers, Def Leppard, Jethro Tull, or Roxy Music have yet to be invited to join the hallowed Hall. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for these deserving bands finding their way to the ballot for the 2019 class.
