The Cure Releasing 30th Anniversary Version of ‘Wish’

According to ultimateclassicrock.com, The Cure are releasing a 30th anniversary deluxe version of their 1992 album, Wish, to be released on October 7th. Freshly remastered by Robert Smith and Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios, the two LP or three cd set will feature 45 different tracks, and includes the original album, alongside 20 previously unreleased demos. Four tracks off of the band’s 1993 mail order only cassette, Lost Wishes, are also on the Anniversary Version of Wish, which have never previously appeared on any CD or digital format. “A Wendy Band,” a previously unreleased song from 1992 sessions at Manor Studio, and other unheard mixes also appear on the remaster. According to Smith, “There’s a side to the album which I had kind of forgotten, a very gentle, yearning thing which is quite beautiful, In the studio control room, it all sounded excellent, but I got too busy sorting out our upcoming concerts to properly oversee the mastering. It was too late to do anything about it; the album was out, and we were off around the world again. It has really bugged me for a very long time. It has taken 30 years, but finally, finally, my Wish has come true.” The Cure is also scheduled to tour this October, more details can be found on the band’s website.
