The Chicago Bears Just Hosted A Girls Flag Football Clinic at Round Lake High School To Empower Girls

The Chicago Bears of the NFL just held a Girls Flag Football clinic at Round Lake High School on Wednesday night, which also served as the NFL Fuel Up to Play 60 Hometown Grant Event.

Undeniably Dairy and the Chicago bears teamed up and selected Round Lake High School as the recipient of a $10,000 NFL Hometown Grant, for the school to use to start their own girls flag football team over the fall.

Round Lake’s athletic director, Ethan Karolcsaz thanked the Bears for hosting the event via an official statement reading, “To be able to do something like this, it’s going to increase the opportunities to showcase our athleticism, build the bonds that you make with teammates and learn all the life lessons and habits of success that you learn through sport To be able to expand that for more of our kids is just awesome so we’re really excited.”

Over 40 attendees joined the clinic and took part in a series of drills that were led by coaches and athletes from Willowbrook High School, who won the girls flag football state championship in fall of 2022. The girls were able to learn about proper footwork, how to catch, and even technique for flag pulling while also taking part in one on one drills in order to practice flag pulling and other maneuvers.

Meanwhile, Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery also attended the clinic to take part in the drills and stated, “To be able to come here and see girls, women who are going to be competing to play football – the game that I love – it’s inspiring, And it’s definitely a beautiful thing to see, so it was fun for me.”
