Back in February, the CFDA and Vogue announced a reimagined format for the 2021 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, which opened its application process on March 10. This year’s 10 finalists will all receive funds and mentorship based on their designated areas of need. The application is open to emerging designers as well as past CVFF finalists and designer recipients of last year’s A Common Thread funding.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was established in 2003 to help emerging American design talent find continued success in the business of fashion. In light of the current state of the world and the fashion industry, CFDA and Vogue have repurposed the Fashion Fund for 2021 to reflect these changing times.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund began in a time of crisis, and it is important to continue the spirit of finding ways to give back based on where we find ourselves now. Learning from the lessons of A Common Thread, CFDA and Vogue needed to rethink the seventeen-year old Fashion Fund to better serve and give back to the fashion community in the strongest way possible.
The 2021 CVFF year will continue to have 10 designer participants, but each selected designer will automatically receive funds and mentorship based on their designated areas of need. CFDA and Vogue believe in the young American designer community and want to continue to nurture, support, and empower it.
Applications for the 2021 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund are now open to designers through March 17, 2021: Click here to apply > For questions, please contact CVFF@cfda.com.
