Thanks to Queen Bey, Cowboy Hats are Fashion’s New “It” Accessory

On March 29th, Beyoncé officially entered her “Cowboy Carter” era with the album’s highly anticipated release. Elsewhere, Bella Hadid hard-launched her rodeo-star boyfriend, and music fans across the globe are already donning their festival-season looks — meaning the Western aesthetic is trending harder than ever.

As Fashionista reports, Trendalytics has determined that social buzz for cowboy hats has increased by a whopping 400% compared to this time last year. The platform attributes the rise of “cowboy-core” to Miley Cyrus‘s ranch-inspired aesthetic, the “Barbie” movie and Ralph Lauren’s first Artist in Residence collection with designer Naiomi Glasses in December. Now’s the time to sort your headwear for summer, and, evidently, no option’s as cool as a laidback riding hat.

If you’d like, take a page out of the Queen Bey “It” girl book: Beyoncé and Bella Hadid have worn styles from heritage brand Stetson. Hailey Bieber favors buzzy Instagram label Lack of Color, while Dua Lipa and Emily Ratajkowski are well-documented fans of Monsterrat Messeguer’s Western gear. Meanwhile, Klarna tells Fashionista that “rhinestone cowboy hats” have recently seen a 331% jump in purchases, and Kelsey Randall’s made-to-order piece is a perfect option.
