Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars’ Grammy Winner 5 Years Later

Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars released a Grammy winner five years ago this week, but it’s unfortunately blown away with the wind. It’s time to remind you of this great track though… The song was titled “Safe & Sound” and it was released off the soundtrack of “The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond.”

Because of its simplicity and great lyrics, it was a successful single. This track would receive big honors including the Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media. It would also receive be nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. Unfortunately, that award would be given to Little Big Town instead. As for its performance at the Country Music Awards, well, it did receive two nominations (Collaborative of the Year and Musical Event of the Year), but it wouldn’t be victorious in either one.

The charts didn’t necessarily agree with how great of a hit we think it was, as it only reached number 30 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Its best finish would come from the chart in New Zealand, where it would finish 11th.
