According to consequence.net, over the fourth of July holiday weekend, Shane Hawkins the son of longtime Foo Fighters drummer sat behind the drums at a Laguna Beach block party to perform the Foo Fighters’ 1997 hit, “My Hero”. In a TikTok clip, Shane can be seen atop a neighborhood rooftop, with the local Laguna band “The Alive”. The clip was posted alongside a caption that read, “When Taylor Hawkins’ son gets on the drums and dedicates the song ‘My Hero’ to his dad,” the caption read. “The hawk would’ve been proud.” Shane clearly possesses the same lovable energy seen in the clip that his dad had on the drums. The Hawkins family and The Alive have close ties, as the band has opened for Taylor’s cover band Chevy Metal. They also opened for the Foo Fighters in Chile right before Taylor’s unfortunate passing. Making Shane’s performance all that much more special and tear-jerking.
