Steppenwolf’s John Kay Drops ‘Steppenwolf at 50’

John Kay has just released the definitive Steppenwolf box set ‘Steppenwolf at 50’ and life has never been better. John used to come up in trivia games as to where he was born, is he English, American or Canadian?

Most John Kay fans don’t know that he was born in Germany; they consider him Canadian which for the most part he is. In fact, he’s in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, but the real news is that he’s celebrating Steppenwolf’s 50th year in music his year with a 41-track ‘all in’ collection of music that covers the entire catalog of sound.

‘Steppenwolf at 50’ is three CDs of vintage Steppenwolf; if you loved “Magic Carpet Ride,” “Rock Me,” “Born to Be Wild,” or the dark classic “The Pusher,” then this collector’s item is for you. ‘Steppenwolf at 50’ will also offer a few live performances from the mid-90s. Not only is John a world class entertainer, he’s also an activist; John and his wife founded a charity called Maue Kay Foundation which helps the environment and supports human rights.
