Stars of the 80s

The 80s were all about IBM, Compaq personal portable computers, Microsoft, Miami Vice and more. There were a lot of rock and roll bands in the 80s, but we’d like to focus on the stars that changed the music industry forever because of their success in the 80s. So, here are a few of our favorite 80s stars…

Whitney Houston remains the only artist to have seven connective number one songs on the charts in the mid-80s. She’s sold over 150 million albums, appeared in over eight films and five TV shows, has won Grammy, Billboard and BET awards, and may remain the singular most successful female artist of all time.

Celine Dion was born Céline Marie Claudette Dion in Charlemagne, Quebec, in 1968, rising as a teen sensation in the mid-80s to become a one of a kind. She’s lost a husband and brother Daniel to cancer, resides in Las Vegas as a resident performer, and is responsible for hundreds of millions of album sales.
