CBS and Dick Clark Productions have unveiled an exciting lineup of artists for the “American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special” airing live on Oct. 6. The two-hour event will feature performances from music icons including Mariah Carey, Green Day, Stray Kids, Jennifer Hudson, Kane Brown, Raye, Gladys Knight, Brad Paisley, and Chaka Khan.
Alongside these performances, the special will also include appearances by Carrie Underwood, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, and former AMAs host Jimmy Kimmel, making it a must-watch celebration of music history.
Mariah Carey is set to deliver a medley of hits from her album The Emancipation of Mimi in honor of its 20th anniversary. Jennifer Hudson will pay tribute to Whitney Houston, who won 22 AMAs throughout her career. Stray Kids will perform a salute to iconic boy bands, while Raye will cover James Brown’s “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World.”
Kane Brown will perform a mix of classic and contemporary country hits, while Chaka Khan will bring her classic “I’m Every Woman” to life. Gladys Knight will revisit her hit “Midnight Train to Georgia,” marking 50 years since she performed it on the inaugural AMAs show in 1974.
Green Day will perform their recent single “Dilemma,” and Brad Paisley will honor Charley Pride and debut a new song of his own.
The 50th anniversary special will be broadcast live on CBS from 8-10 p.m. ET and available to stream on Paramount+.
