Sofía Vergara Says She’s In No Rush for Love: “I Need Fun in My Life”

Sofía Vergara is embracing single life on her own terms. During a candid appearance on the Today show, the Modern Family star opened up about navigating love after her 2023 divorce from actor Joe Manganiello — and why she’s in no rush to settle down again.

Now 52, Vergara reflected on her year and a half of singledom with humor and self-awareness. “I kind of panicked once I got divorced,” she admitted. “I was like, ‘I’m 52, what’s gonna happen?’” But that panic has passed. “I’m not really in a hurry anymore.”

As for what she’s looking for in a partner? “Somebody that loves me, that’s tall, handsome — and has as much money as me or more,” she laughed. “Because if not, it’s a nightmare. They end up resenting you.”

Vergara, who was previously linked to orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman after her split from Manganiello, emphasized that fun is her top priority. “I need fun in my life.”

With her trademark confidence and wit, Vergara is proving that starting over in your 50s can be powerful — and that love, when it’s right, doesn’t need to be rushed.
